These are an heirloom pie pumpkin known as "Fairytale" or a type of "Musquee de Province" heirloom pumpkin.

 

They are open pollinated, which means they are grown outside and allowed to pollinate naturally (with the help of pollinator insects).

  • All seeds are hand-harvested from plants grown on our farm in Union, Oregon:

    • Located within the Blue Mountain Ecoregion
    • Zone 6b
    • Elevation: 2,786 ft
    • Average rainfall: 13 in
    • Classified as a high elevation desert

     

    Growth requirements:

    • Pumpkins needs 150-180 days to maturity. 
    • Full sun (8-10 hrs per day)
    • Well drained soils. Overwatering can increase the risk of powdery mildew infection.
    • In zone 6b, these must be started indoors a month or two early, then transplanted outside once the weather is warm.
    • Green pumpkins can be harvested before the first fall frost and brought inside to ripen in a window.
